Frequently Asked Questions
All spaces within our Gymnastics and Trampolining programme are advertised here and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Spaces are updated regularly so please check back to ensure you get the class you want. Dance Classes are advertised here and again available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Due to the demand of our classes we request full payment at the time of signing up, therefore the child will not have the option of a trial session beforehand. However, if within the first week from the start of your classes, your child decides they do not wish to continue, we will offer a full refund, less the cost of the lessons attended.
We have a large viewing window in our waiting area for parents to watch Gymnastics Classes. If your child is enrolled in a trampolining, dance or gymnastics class in our Ruby Room, you will be invited to watch during a specified watching week. Please note that photography is not allowed.
Once a child has completed their first term in our Recreational Gymnastics Classes, they will need to purchase and wear Recreational Kit. This includes any leotard or shorts/leggings and an Academy t-shirt. Not crop tops allowed in our Pre-School and Recreational Classes.
Until the kit is purchased gymnasts should wear either leggings / shorts, t-shirt or leotard. Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery is to be worn.
From September 2016 The Academy’s Recreational Gymnastics Programme will begin the new Academy Awards scheme. Children will be working towards certificates and medals in each of our level 1, 2 and 3 classes within a number of different skills. For those parents that wish their children to complete the British Gymnastics proficiency awards badge scheme, we will be running badge specific camps during the Summer and Easter Holidays as well as all Half Terms. Pre-school classes run term time only. Recreational Gymnastics, Trampoline, Dance and Novice squads close for 2 weeks at Christmas, Easter and the first 2 weeks in August. They do run through remainder of the year including school half terms and bank holidays. Details of all term dates and closures can viewed on our calendar here.
Unfortunately no, fees are payable for the full term in advance and credit/refunds are not given for missed lessons.
There are always opportunities for volunteers in both coaching and fundraising please contact the Admin Office for further details.
The payment weeks period is advertised on our calendar. We also send individual emails to all members and advertise the payment weeks on our TV. Places which remain unpaid for at the end of the payment week period are assumed to be not required and are automatically offered out to children via our website.
Unfortunately no, classes are non transferable.
All camps are open to members and non-members alike, members receive a discount on the daily fees as a benefit of their Academy Membership.
It is possible to book in as many recreational classes in a week as you wish. On top of this we have optional two-hour additional recreational classes within our programme for those wanting to do more. It may also be worth speaking with your child’s coach about the possibility of a trial in Novice, your child’s coach is the best person to advise whether this would be suitable for your child. Finally we offer Private Lessons and see this as a fantastic way of increasing your child’s skill level, they can be booked here.
