How do I enrol my child at The Academy ?

Please click the ‘Join The Academy’ link on our website. Your details will be added to our waiting list

How do I hear that my child has a space from the waiting list?

You will normally be emailed informing you that spaces are available. For 5 places we email the top 10 children on our waiting list and these spaces would be given out on a first come first served basis (via email) If you fail to get one of the places that are offered it means you are at the top of the waiting list. Please check your emails often. Most movement is directly after our payment period has finish.

Can my child have a trial lesson before deciding whether to register?

Yes, Once your child has completed their trial a decision should be made  whether they wish to sign up for the term. Failure to communicate with the admin office and pay in full on the day of the trial will result in your child being removed from the register and the space will be offered to someone else from our extensive waiting list. NB. Payment will be due today so please bring a method of payment.

Your options on the trial day are:-

  • YES my child wants to sign up - You will be asked to fill in a Registration Form and payment in full is required along with the club’s membership fee.
  • NO my child does not want to sign up - Please head to the office and pay for today’s trial only.

What are Gymnasts expected to wear when attending the classes?

Once a child is registered they will need to wear the Academy kit, details of which can be found on the web site. It is a requirement of the club that the kit is acquired prior to start of their second term. Until the kit is purchased gymnasts should wear either leggings / shorts and t shirt or leotard. Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery may be worn.

Will my child in the recreational programme work on a reward scheme?

From September 2016 The Academy's Recreational Gymnastics Programme will begin the new 'Star' reward scheme. Keep a look out on our notice board for more details. Children will be working towards certificates and medals in each of our level 1, 2 and 3 classes. For those parents that wish their children to complete the British Gymnastics proficiency awards badge scheme, we will be running badge specific classes each school holiday.

Do the classes run through the school holidays?

Pre-school classes run term time only. Recreational gymnastic, trampoline classes and Novice squads close for 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and the first 2 weeks in August, but do run through remainder of the year including school half terms and bank holidays. Details of all term dates and closures can download from our website under calendar.

We are going on holiday for two weeks during gym term time, can we have a credit/refund on the fees?

Unfortunately no, fees are payable for the full term in advance and credit/refunds are not given for missed lessons.

What happens if I miss the payment week period?

The payment weeks period is advertised on our website under calendar. We also send individual emails to all members and advertise outside the club and on our TV the week prior to commencement and runs for at least 2 weeks, Places which remain unpaid for at the end of the payment week period are assumed to be not required and are automatically offered to children on the waiting list.

If we are unable to attend our lesson this week can I swap to another day for one week?

No, classes are non transferable.

Can non members attend camps?

All camps are open to members and non-members alike, members receive a discount on the daily fees.

My child would like to do more gymnastics, is this possible?

It is possible to book in as many recreational classes in a week as you wish. Also speak to your child’s coach and request a trial in Novice. Your child’s coach is the best person to advise whether this would be possible.
